On Thursday, the Winnitron happened to be present for Secret Handshake. What’s Secret Handshake? It’s a gathering of Winnipeg “creatives”. *adjusts monocle*

In any case, it was a great excuse for people to play the machine – and a great excuse for us to look at a day’s snapshot of brand new stats.

As you can see, Canabalt was the “winner” of the night… which isn’t terribly surprising considering we gave it some very special trailer treatment a while ago.

Captain Foraxian, Sumo Topplers, Paper Moon and Verge received roughly equal attention, which I found a bit surprising. I’m guessing that more single players were using the machine, rather than couples or 2 player buddies, which stands in contrast to the last big chunk of stats we collected at Data Dance, Level 1.

What’s Captain Foraxian? It’s the newest edition to the Winnitron lineup, and it was created by the Fabulous Farbs. Head down to Lo Pub if you’re in the peg, or over to the Dutch Game Garden if you’re over in the Netherlands to check it out on a Winnitron machine.

Anecdotally, while I was chilling at Secret Handshake, I overheard a really nice story about a pair of dudes who played through and beat Krunch, which is quite an impressive accomplishment. (that game is hard)

Note that these are just stats from ONE NIGHT. We’ll do another post examining how the stats look over a longer period of time, in the near future. Games like Indie Brawl and 4fourths are faring much better in the long run.
